The 2024 STS Rhino Run: a roaring success on World Rhino Day
On 22 September 2024, World Rhino Day, the STS team once again laced up their running shoes and hit the trails for our annual Rhino Run—an event dedicated to raising funds to protect Rhinos and conserve their habitats. This year, the energy and commitment from our participants were truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible results we achieved together.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to every participant. Your enthusiasm and dedication have made a tangible difference, and we are incredibly grateful. Whether you ran, walked, jogged, or crawled, your efforts have helped us continue the fight to protect these magnificent creatures.
Running for Rhinos: the highlights
With several STS staff members participating, we collectively completed 363.7 kilometres, with all 363.7 kilometres eligible for donations. Some of our colleagues went the extra mile (or two) to score bonus points for this great cause. This outstanding effort means that Johnny, Group CEO, now needs to dig deep into his pockets and donate R 18 184.00! Thank you Johnny for this generous contribution.
Team spirit and creative outfits galore
Our team once again blew us away with their imaginative outfits and unwavering support for this important cause. The spirit of the day was one of fun, teamwork, and a shared commitment to conservation. Together, we took a giant leap towards a brighter future for Rhinos.
Continuing the fight for Rhino conservation
While the run may be over, our work is far from done. The funds raised through the Rhino Run will go directly to Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary supporting on-the-ground conservation efforts, helping to protect rhinos from poaching and preserve their natural habitats. Every step brings us closer to a world where Rhinos can roam freely and safely.
A big thank you from STS
To all our participants, sponsors, and supporters: thank you for making the Rhino Run a resounding success. Your involvement helps drive the change we wish to see, not only for rhinos but for all of South Africa’s wildlife. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to make a difference, one step at a time.
